And since the average homeowner will spend tens of thousands of dollars when doing a major kitchen remodel, it’s crucial to do it right. So how do you accomplish that? We’ve assembled a number of white kitchen ideas to simplify the design process.
Modern style cabinetry isn’t for everyone, although there usually is a form and function that will appeal to many. In many kitchen and baths, modern cabinetry can be mixed and matched with varying colors and styles to bring together a unified appeal. Depending on your taste, your home and interiors should reflect you and your family’s style and taste. Modern styled cabinetry can transform your kitchen or bath into the space you’ve always dreamed of!
Carefully Choose Your Shelves: If you have metal shelves, try laying a cutting board or tray to allow storing of smaller items like flatware, food or salt and pepper shakers. Save drawer space for less attractive items like aluminum foil and plastic wrap, and keep pretty things at eye level.
What décor style is your kitchen: Depending on your decorative style of your kitchen will be the driving factor in choosing a cabinet style. Is your home traditional with ornate wood details and old time charm? You will prefer cabinetry that has fine detailing in the doors and possibly intricate door hardware. Is your home minimalistic and modern with very little detailing and sleek finishes? You may prefer a lacquer luster to your kitchen cabinets or even metal may be more your direction of style.
Open Shelving Using open shelving instead of upper cabinets can be a great way to add a dual-tone look to your kitchen. This also makes it easy to change up the color, as you can simply repaint the wall behind the shelves instead of the cabinets. It’s also a great way to showcase your favorite tableware.
There are a number of ways to approach white countertops. White marble is warm, classic and its natural veiny appearance adds texture. It is more expensive than other options as well as higher maintenance. You’ll need to wipe up spills right away, avoid putting hot pans or abrasive items on the surface and seal it on a regular basis. White granite is lower maintenance than marble (seal it once a year and wipe up spills ASAP) but also offers a classic look.
