Custom renovation – This is the ‘full throttle’ version of things and you will get the entire thing here as you can change pretty much every aspect of your kitchen and even bring down a wall or two (if your home permits that) to add more space as well.
Dining peninsulas can be cool and practical as well. With these you really don’t have to buy a dining table, although you might need to splurge on a ceiling pendant still. Dining areas like that look more casual, but it doesn’t mean they can’t be stylish and elegant.
The beauty of adding wooden surfaces to the modern kitchen goes beyond mere textural contrast. It allows you to blend two different styles and add a hint of rustic, farmhouse, traditional or even industrial panache to the stylish, contemporary kitchen. While wood does a great job of lending that natural, rustic appeal, marble acts as a balancing element by elevating the ‘sophistication’ of the kitchen with its polished finish.

Maintaining the white color on the cabinets and walls (the perimeter of the kitchen) and popping in some steel elements in appliances helps to keep the star of the kitchen the coral center island. But a thick white countertop throughout adds cohesion, even to cabinetry that is different. This is a key element – one of simplicity and consistency amidst design variations – of modern style.
