Cabinets & Storages May 17, 2017. There are a number of ways to approach white countertops. White marble is warm, classic and its natural veiny appearance adds texture. It is more expensive than other options as well as higher maintenance. You’ll need to wipe up spills right away, avoid putting hot pans or abrasive items on the surface and seal it on a regular basis. White granite is lower maintenance than marble (seal it once a year and wipe up spills ASAP) but also offers a classic look.

These extend across the entire main room, opening it up to the city views much like it is done in the New York lofts. The white walls, columns, and staircase, however, give it a classic Scandinavian look. There aren’t many decorations or design elements, so the frosty minimal atmosphere very much translates into the Nordic aesthetic.
Kitchen Backsplash May 02, 2017. Stainless Steel, Most people are after matching stainless steel appliances in their kitchen. Why? Because they look sharp and are central to a modern, updated design. Using stainless steel as the backsplash–either with tiles or a solid sheet–is a continuation of that same feel and creates a sleek, uniform look. Replace incandescent light bulbs with the latest energy-efficient versions. Choose pendant lights that can be clipped onto existing track-lighting systems to layer your room’s lighting. Replace outdated light fixtures. Add a mirror to a kitchen wall or consider adding a mirrored backsplash to reflect light.
Design May 02, 2017. Gone are the days when the kitchen was filled with just polished plastic surfaces and design that was typical of the 90’s ‘cubicle’ trend. Modern kitchens are once again going down the classic route and textural contrast is back in style, big time! With that mind, designers are turning towards both wood and natural stone to provide the necessary contrast even while keeping the ergonomics refined and cutting-edge. Apart from the warmth of wood, it is the exquisite elegance of marble that seems to be the preferred choice as cutting-edge kitchen compositions are being selectively draped in marble.
Design May 01, 2017. Time to swap out your boring kitchen island with one that is far more efficient and undoubtedly eye-catching! Marble island countertops coupled with a block of wood that can either serve as prep area or even the breakfast bar is a trendy choice indeed. Another nifty way to blend wood and marble is with an island that has a complete marble countertop but a wooden base and storage units with wooden doors. Matching bar stools and pendant lighting can complete a delightful kitchen that turns heads instantly.
