There’s plenty of room to play with patterns while still maintaining clean lines: stack tiles in columns, stagger them, or lay them at an angle. Most tile requires minimal maintenance, just be sure to seal the grout so it doesn’t get stained or absorb water.
Cabinets & Storages April 27, 2017. Stainless steel has been the presiding choice for new kitchens, often replacing old white appliances that looked dated. Though it’s hard to imagine such sharp stainless steel appliances falling out of fashion, they could very well go out of style in the future. In a 2010 study by Consumer Reports some kitchen experts said that the stainless steel reign was coming to an end. And what will replace it? Likely reimagined, updated white appliances. For example, a glass-like polished enamel that is modern and reflects light.

Design April 27, 2017. This is simply amore subtle variation of the classic red-black-white color scheme discussed previously, but the effect is still modern and fresh. Maintaining the white color on the cabinets and walls (the perimeter of the kitchen) and popping in some steel elements in appliances helps to keep the star of the kitchen the coral center island. But a thick white countertop throughout adds cohesion, even to cabinetry that is different. This is a key element – one of simplicity and consistency amidst design variations – of modern style.

Kitchen Island & Carts April 26, 2017. The latest trend in contemporary kitchens is the thick slab countertop effect. While most countertops are normally 2” thick, choosing a 3 – 5” thick countertop creates an anchored, stately look. Remember to adjust cabinet heights accordingly to make up for the height increase from the thicker countertops.
